Insurance Policies can be confusing

Insurance Policies can be confusing

If you subscribe to a large insurance carrier like Aetna, obtaining accurate information and resources about your policy can often times be a challenging and frustrating process. The Aetna “Septoplasty and Rhinoplasty Clinical Policy Bulletin” is lengthy and filled with medical terminology. Your insurance is issued every year but this policy is subject to more frequent reviews and changes with the last review on March 3, 2017 which was 6 months from the date of this post. In addition, there are brochures outlining policy “limitations and exclusions” to sinus surgery, septoplasty and other nasal surgery that may not be obvious until a claim is denied.
