Dr. Harounian works exclusively on the face, head and neck region specializing in tonsil and throat surgery, deviated septum surgery, repairing broken noses, sinus surgery and complex revision sinus surgery, rhinoplasty, as well as cosmetic surgery such as performing facelifts and eyelifts. He is passionate about helping all his patients leave his office feeling confident about their appearance and positive about their outcome.
He is a member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the American Rhinologic Society, the Triological Society, the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Otolaryngic Surgery, the Phi Beta Kapa Honor Society, the Sigma Beta Kapa Honor Society, the AmeriCorps Corporation for National and Community Service, and the American College of Surgeons, He is a board certified surgeon, with certifications in nasal, throat and facial plastic surgery from the American Board of Otolaryngology. He has multiple research and leadership awards and was awarded a Presidential Scholarship for Academic Excellence. Dr. Harounian is on staff and performs surgery at the Lenox Hill Hospital and Gramercy Surgery Center.
Through his work and studies at the Northwell Health Lenox Hill Hospital as well as at Temple University Hospital, Dr. Harounian received intensive training in facial plastic surgery, primary and revision sinus surgery, rhinoplasty, breathing surgery such as valve repair and septoplasty, tonsil and throat surgery. After serving as chief resident for Head and Neck Surgery at Temple University Hospital and Fox Chase Cancer Center, in Philadelphia, he gained additional expertise from his fellowship as Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Fellow at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City where he held a fellowship position in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery (sponsored by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery). Dr. Harounian completed his doctorate as Magna Cum Laude at the prestigious SUNY Downstate Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Harounian was honored as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Society at the top of his medical school class.
In addition to his passion of making a positive impact on his patient’s lives, Dr. Harounian is an avid health & fitness promoter and enjoys weightlifting, hiking, basketball and spending time with his friends and family.
